Furniture B&B Italia

B&B Italia, founded in 1966, is a recognized leader in the area of modern interior decoration. the company's products represent a collection that reflects the history and achievements of italian design, a process through which Italian creativity and expertise have become world-famous.

B&B Italia Outdoor

Canasta, 1966 collection and swell seating collection are the first steps of a project that will continue to be developed thanks to a prestigious team of designers who contribute with their creativity and by using innovative materials.

1996 and Swell seating collection

Swell seating collection

The swell seating collection, created as an expansion of the 1966 collection, is made up of an armchair and a two-seat or threeseat sofa without armrests. This adaptable collection is the perfect solution for furnishing needs in large outdoor areas. Like the original celebrated outdoor furnishing collection, it is available in white, black or a black and white contrasting pattern.

Ravel

Ravel by Patricia Urquiola

Ravel: the result of field experimentation in the philippines, Patricia Urquiola’s work marks a further detailed study of the woven theme, which was successfully presented in the debut canasta collection. Ravel’s woven polyethylene backs blend with a metal base producing a modular element in two different sizes, that can be freely positioned to form linear or corner seats or chaise longue end units. pouf elements can be used both as intervals between seats and to increase seat depth.

Canasta

Canasta by Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola approached the outdoors starting from the theme of woven patterns-reviving and personalising the concept with a traditional look in mind, but giving it a decisively contemporary look without using too much nostalgic influence. Vienna straw, with its decorative geometric shape, was her element of inspiration. the collection is enriched by a series of tables and service elements with steel structures.

Springtime

Springtime

Springtime, the collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, develops the theme of the “à cabane” seat with deep seating sofas that can be shaded by a light textile or rattan cover to create privacy even en plein air. The sofas, with their rigorous linear frames, are designed in two seating depths, a chaise longue with either a single seat on castors and adjustable headrest or a double seat placed either in parallel or face to face. in addition there is the option of rectangular and square tables that can be converted into vase holders. The collection comes with other accessories, such as a pouf, small tables and an enameled steel brazier. the collection creates a consistent landscape, whose refinement is based on the use of white varnished landscape, whose refinement is based on the use of white varnished aluminum frames, stainless steel holders and waterproof fabrics in three shades (i.e. grey, anthracite and acid green) that match the fleece upholstery of padded parts.

Crinoline

Crinoline by Patricia Urquiola

With the Crinoline series Patricia Urquiola’s study on 3d texture reaches formal, soft and sinuous results that develops into seats, small armchairs and armchairs that vary in shape and height. The black- white and black-bronze dual coloured polyethylene weave matches the natural fibre or bronze string. A well armchair is impressively adorned with a magenta natural fibre poncho thrown over the seat and back.

B&B Italia Sofas

Charles   Sofa Charles by Antonio Citterio

High seat modularity starting with sixteen elements per type and different sizes - this is the concept behind Charles. Linear and corner compositions are developed with these elements, particularly with chaise longue end units. Peninsula-style compositions can be beautifully arranged in the centre of room. A single seat-cushion, a series of free cushions placed on the backrest, a light picture enhanced by the pure lines of die-cast aluminum feet make Charles a sofa with a decidedly modern taste.

Andy       Sofa Andy by Paolo Piva

Andy interprets the theme of the sofa without supports and is designed to meet a host of comfort and posture requirements thanks to its easy-to-use mechanical systems. Its distinguishing feature is a developing seat to convert it from sofa to chaise longue. the advancement of both seats makes it large enough to become a bed. The mechanism installed on the backrest allows to adjust inclination from an horizontal position, which is most decorative, to a vertical position, which is extremely comfortable for the back. the collection includes an ottoman which perfectly matches the modules in the system.

Harry     Sofa Harry by Antonio Citterio

Seats available in three depths distinguish harry armchairs, sofas and modular elements, all with classic aluminum feet. A more formal seat is used on the armchair and sofas, while an informal seat distinguishes the modular element and in particular the end unit, which is as long as a chaise longue but does not project from the outline of the sofa.

George  Sofa George by Antonio Citterio

The George system consists of two different types of sofas which both have a tubular metal base, yet are available with or without seat cushions. The second system, without seat cushions but still with cross- stitching, is deeper and has wider armrests. The system comprises a sofa, end units in two sizes, and two chaise-longue end units. A headrest can be installed on the backrests to provide better support of the upper back. Completing the system is a rectangular chaise-longue with an adjustable reclining backrest, and a square ottoman.

B&B Italia chairs

Papilio  B&B Italia chair Papilio

The design of the new chair emphasises the Japanese aim of the designer at giving preference to details, including the less noticeable ones. There is a balance of form, which starts from the curve of the back and arrives until the long conical shape of the frame, in this new chair. The body, characterized by a constant thickness, expands into the superior part, allowing a natural posture during relaxing moments. This piece is also covered by fabric and leather, and also has a removable cover thanks to a metallic zip that characterize its back.

Lazy '05  B&B Italia chair Lazy '05

B&B Italia and Patricia Urquiola are enhancing the lazy seating collection by adding 4 new elements. The existing chaise longue and chair with high backrest (whose prototype was introduced in April 2004) are now accompanied by a chair with a low backrest, an easy chair, an armchair, and a stool in two different sizes, which are designed for both home and contract use.

B&B Italia table

Seven     B&B Italia table Seven

Characterized by the particular shape of its top, with three different sides, it is able to accommodate seven people or, as its designer likes to say, 6+1. 3+2+2 chairs should be placed on each one of its sides. the seven sign makes it so strongly recognisable that it changes the layout of space and modifies perception. The three branch design of the picture resurfaces from the top, creating a graphic decoration in contrast or chromatically harmonic. The whole metal structure is varnished in several colours. The wooden top comes in light oak, grey or brown or satin varnished in several colours.

Athos      B&B Italia table Athos

The Athos extendible table is equipped with an invisible mechanism designed to offer two different sizes to suit requirements. Athos is also available in a fixed version, in two sizes. The structural frames that accent the ends of the tabletops are joined by a central support that rests on the floor.

B&B Italia bed

Tufty bed B&B Italia bed Tufty

The existing Tufty time collection has now been extended to the night time area, where ”chesterfield”style and “capitonnè” look are expressed in a more marked manner. The upholstery in leather or fabric is subdivided into large squares that are joined by pleats, perforated in the leather version. Because it is closed at the bottom, the bed can accommodate a number of different wire meshes, including a hinged version (in widths of 160, 170 or 180 cm) which provides access to a useful utility compartment.

Fat Fat     B&B Italia bed Fat-Fat

The look of Fat-Fat complements graces a young entertaining “swimming-pool” bed. with its disappearing headboard, it can even be placed at the centre of a room. A choice of small and compact sizes enables the bed to be used in youthful settings. fat-fat uses slatted wooden bases.

Siena        B&B Italia Siena bed

An essential look and a base and headboard in a drastically reduced size are the distinguishing features of a project by Naoto Fukasawa which conveys a great sense of lightness, thanks to the base projecting from the whole perimeter of the bed. The top of the back panel inserted into the base features a short turned-up section where you can rest your arm comfortably when you are seated. Two tubular metal supports hold up the frame; a version is available with casters at the rear that make it easy to move. The base frame contains a metal mesh with pre-curved beech wood slats.
